Replace and Refill Final Drive Gear Oil

Tools needed: Drain pan, correct weight gear oil (per manual), socket set, funnel, and a clean rag. Safety: Ensure the engine is cool and the bike is stable on a level surface.

1. Place the drain pan under the final drive housing.
2. Remove the drain plug and allow the old oil to empty completely.
3. Inspect the drain plug magnet for metal shavings and clean it thoroughly.
4. Reinstall the drain plug with a new crush washer and torque to manufacturer specifications.
5. Remove the fill plug and add the recommended volume of fresh gear oil using a funnel.
6. Reinstall the fill plug and wipe away any excess oil.
7. Test the motorcycle at low speeds to verify the noise has subsided.
