Clean and Adjust the Extruder Drive Assembly

Follow these steps to restore the grip of your extruder gear on the FlashForge Creator Pro 3:

  1. Safety First: Ensure the printer is powered off and the hotend has cooled to room temperature to prevent burns.
  2. Access the Gear: Remove the extruder fan shroud and cover to expose the drive gear assembly.
  3. Clean the Gear: Use a brass wire brush or compressed air to remove all plastic shavings and debris from the gear teeth. Ensure the teeth are clear of any filament residue.
  4. Tension Adjustment: Locate the tension spring screw. If the gear was slipping, rotate the screw clockwise in small increments to increase grip. If the gear was grinding through the filament, rotate counter-clockwise to reduce pressure.
  5. Verification: Reassemble the fan shroud. Power on the printer, heat the nozzle to the target temperature, and initiate a manual filament load command. The gear should feed the filament smoothly without clicking or grinding.
