The compressor motor is secured to the refrigerator frame using mounting bolts and vibration-dampening rubber grommets. If these mounting components become loose, damaged, or degraded over time, the compressor can vibrate excessively against the chassis during its operation cycle. This physical contact between the motor and the frame creates a persistent rattling, buzzing, or humming noise that is often most audible when the compressor is actively running.
